Home cooks sought by new delivery company GRUBie

grubie home delivery

New food delivery service GRUBie is hoping to provide a service for those of us in lockdown who badly don't want to cook tonight, but who want something more homemade than ordering in pizza or a restaurant box. Think of it as an UberEats or Deliveroo but for home cooks.

The idea is that anyone who loves cooking and wants to share their food with others can do so and make money into the bargain. It's as much for passionate home cooks as it is for chefs who've lost their jobs.

Of course, it's not as simple as thinking you cook an amazing butter chicken or BBQ pork and then jumping on the network. You'll have to be council registered and meet a minimum FSA rating of 3 Stars to join. But it does sound as though, by removing barriers to going into business, it might encourage a diverse group of cooks to make cooking their business. Chefs already signed up include those cooking Sri Lankan, Nigerian and Mauritian food.
