American chain The Cheesecake Factory is coming to London - here's what you need to know about it

The cheesecake factory at Creams

Update - 9/6/20

Fans of the Cheesecake Factory rejoice (and by the original reaction to this story - there are a lot of you)! More cheesecakes are coming to London - and beyond.

They've just added the Banoffee Cheesecake ("swirled with buttery caramel, topped with a caramel drizzle on a crunchy vanilla crumb") to the menu at Creams, and on 19 June, there will be a new Blueberries and Cream flavour. But they're not stopping there - the menu gets bigger on 4 July, when they'll be adding White Chocolate & Raspberry, Reese’s Peanut Butter, and Oreo Cookies & Cream, and they'll be rolling them out to all Creams nationwide.

So, as we can't currently visit a Cheesecake Factory in the US right now, it's coming to us instead.

Original story follows

1. It's bringing its desserts, but not its restaurants to London.

At the moment, this isn't a fully-fledged invasion. But the chain is sending us its super calorific desserts to be sold at UK restaurant group Creams. Sadly, that means we're not going to see what Eater describes as its "ancient-Egypt-meets-Vegas-Strip vibe" restaurants here anytime soon.

2. Those desserts are insane

To begin with, London is just getting the Godiva Double Chocolate with more of the chain's menu being rolled out in the coming weeks. The cheesecake in question is described as "Layers of Flourless Godiva Chocolate Cake, Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake and Chocolate Mousse".

3. They are not for those who are calorie counting

One of The Cheesecake Factory's claims to fame is that it has two of America's most calorific dishes on its menus. The Bruléed French Toast boasts a whopping 2,780 calories and 93g of saturated fat.

4. Celebrities LOVE it.

Drake has rapped about it (and filmed a music video in one). US sports stars have blown their fortunes in them and Kanye's visit to one in Ohio gifted us this joyous tweet.
