Gary Usher is pretty much the master of crowdfunding, with his last restaurant launch, Wreckfish, in Liverpool, meeting its targets in record time. Best known for Sticky Walnut in Chester, his restaurants have all been based in the north (including Burnt Truffle in Merseyside and Hispi in Manchester),
Marina O'Loughlin said of the original Sticky Walnut: "If I could clone Sticky Walnut, I would. I'd plonk its like the length of the land, replacing every Frankie & Benny's and La Tasca and Café bloody Rouge."
And now it looks like he's set his sights on London. And, typically, he turned to social media to break the news.

We caught up with Usher today to find out a little more. He confirmed to Hot Dinners that it's just a site visit at this time but that he's looking to open a bistro. When we asked if the crazy London prices might put him off, he said: "I wouldn’t come if the prices were crazy".
So there's hope, but it's very early days on this. We'll let you know if more details come to light.
