Salad Kitchen with robata grill opens at Harrods

salad kitchen harrodsWhen so much of what we cover is burgers and BBQ, it's a refreshing change to be able to talk to you all about salad. On the same day that Harvey Nichols opened the most recent branch of Burger and Lobster, further down the Brompton Road, Harrods opened its latest restaurant, The Salad Kitchen.

Located up on the store's fourth floor, appropriately inside the Fashion Lab, the new space has room for 60 people. Salads are paired with fish or meat grilled on their robata grill.

Nibbles like Crudités with hummus start at £6, although this being Knightsbridge there's also caviar with traditional garnishes and potato blinis for £60. Starters include yellowfin tuna tartare, avocado, crostini and wasabi for £12 and there's a range of hot and cold salads like heirloom tomatoes and micro basil with DOP burrata cheese or roasted sweet potato, Jerusalem artichoke, shiitake mushrooms and thyme vinaigrette - both £19. That price may sound steep until you realise it includes a choice of scallops, chorizo-stuffed baby squid, Welsh lamb loin or goat’s cheese from the grill with it.

Desserts (all at £7) are slightly less health conscious with treats like Passion fruit mango pavlova (£7) or Trio of flourless chocolate desserts on offer.

The Salad Kitchen is now open at Harrods, 87-135 Brompton Rd, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL.
