The Ten Bells boys' Shoreditch Town Hall restaurant confirmed as The Clove Club

The Ten Bells boys' Shoreditch Town Hall restaurant confirmed as The Clove Club[Updated 13/2/13 with opening date, booking info and menu details]

We've known for a while that Isaac McHale, Daniel Willis and Johnny Smith were due to open a new restaurant in Shoreditch Town Hall - it was, after all, funded via a crowdsourcing project. And now the restaurant's got a name and an opening date.

It'll be called The Clove Club - taking the name that's already been well established by Daniel and Johnny - setting it up full-time in Shoreditch. As mentioned, it's talking over the grade II listed Shoreditch Town Hall which is currently going through a big regeneration project. The new restaurant will be split into two rooms. There will be a dining room seating 40 people which will serve Isaac's five course menu. The menu itself will be ever-changing seasonal British food, in a style familiar to people who have been upstairs at the Ten Bells. For lunch, they'll have a one-plate meal which will change daily, plus a few snacks and a dessert.

Sample Menu:

Parsley and Snails,
House Smoked Cured Duck
Ogleshield Puffs

Warm Fennel, Seaweed & Walnut Cream
Spinach and Clams, Sunflower Seeds & Mint
Roast Rib of Hereford Beef, Wild Garlic Aioli
Warm Cider & Ginger Mousse
Blood Orange, Sheep's Milk Yoghurt & Wild Fennel

There'll also be a separate bar - seating 40 on boxing spectator chairs from the assembly hall’s past life - that will concentrate on wine and a short cocktail list as well as small plates. Expect to see dishes like Rye Crackers, Fennel & Oak-Smoked Cod’s Roe, Raw Bream, Blood Orange & Turnip,  Grilled Wood Pigeon Sausages, Judas Ear Fungus, Salsify & Beef Sauce and Baked Devilled Crab. You'll also be able to order Isaac's famous buttermilk chicken & pine salt as well as locally made salumi and other cured meats made in Islington.

Cocktails will include a guest cocktail from Happiness Forgets while the beer list will feature Ceilidh from Williams Bros in Alloa Scotland, and Coniston Bluebird Bitter from the Lake District.

As before, Dan and Johnny will be working the floor - and we can safely assume that Dan will be managing the playlist too."

"This is it," says Isaac. "We are finally stepping up and opening the restaurant we have always wanted to. The food in the restaurant will be ambitious, and in the bar, fun. It’s been a long time coming and we look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces."

The Clove Club will open at Shoreditch Town Hall on 4 March 2013. Telephone and online reservations for the clove club will open at 9am Monday 18 February on 020 7729 6496 and at thecloveclub.com
