The Krug Institute of Happiness brings pop-ups to a new level

The Krug Institute of Happiness brings pop-ups to a new levelObviously, readers of Hot Dinners are no strangers to pop-ups. But even we have to admit that sometimes we'd like a little less queuing with the Next Big Thing. Well now that  something's come along, but as it's sponsored by Krug, it doesn't come cheap...

They're behind the Krug Institute of Happiness, which will be opening in 85 Swains Lane in Highgate this December. It's a four storey, glass-box of a building right next door to the cemetary which looks like a cross between a Playboy mansion and a Bond villain's lair. If you decide to book a trip to the Institute, you'll be taken right from your home to its door in a private transfer, ready to be pampered. There, they will apparently be "touching the senses of sight, sound, scent and of course taste, as every element of the experience is designed to create happiness in all guests."

Then, after a wander round the house with a glass of champagne in your hand, something which would certainly make us happy, you'll be treated to a four course meal by none other than Nuno Mendes, which will - of course - be paired with Krug.

All this happiness comes at a price, however. To go to the event, you'll have to buy a pair of tickets at £440 a pair to join one of the two tables of eight per night. So if you've got that spare cash lying about, this may be the pop-up for you.

The event runs from December 5th - 8th. Find out more at the Krug Institute of Happiness website.
