10 Greek Street is closing after 14 years

The ongoing parade of London restaurant closures continues with another longstanding restaurant about to close its doors. This time it's the turn of 10 Greek Street, from Cameron Emirali and Luke Wilson.

The restaurant has been a mainstay of a street that's changed quite a lot since they first opened. They quickly became known for their ever-changing seasonal menu that rewarded repeat visits, as well as an excellent wine list that's also been great value (the house is still only £34 and they have a special £5 corkage on Fridays).

Unlike some other surprise closures, you do have a few weeks to make a return visit to 10 Greek Street. They will also be bringing back some of their signature dishes from the past, like a prawn and scallop ravioli with lemon butter. They say they'll be running down the cellar, so there might be some great deals on the wine too.

Of the closure, they're keen to make the most of the occasion: "If you fancy coming in for a meal, or just to say hello before 8th August, it would be brilliant to see you. We’re excited about what comes next, but first we’d love to see lots of you over the next few weeks and give the restaurant the send-off it deserves."

It's the latest in a series of high-profile closures around the capital, and we expect more to come. Any support that Andy Burnham's planning to give the industry can't come quickly enough.
