Not content with having Stable Wines, Godet and Hector's on their doorsteps, the folks of De Beauvoir now have a shiny new wine bar to check out.
De Beauvoir Wines has seen everyone's favourite local grocery store, the De Beauvoir Deli, give their former cafe a wine bar makeover. "It felt like the natural next step," says owner Harry Davies. "We wanted to create a place where you can drop in for a glass of wine after work and always feel looked after."
The wine list has been put together by the deli's manager Alex. "He wanted to create a wine list that reflects the kind of places we love to drink in," Harry told us, "relaxed and welcoming. We work with independent producers who farm thoughtfully. It's a list that's designed to be explored, shared and enjoyed, whether you know exactly what you're looking for or just fancy trying something new."
And with the deli just opposite, the bar food menu lends itself to a range of cheese plates and charcuterie. There'll also be small plates like burnt aubergine dip with pickled chillis or cod's roe, both served with Dusty Knuckle potato sourdough. They are also planning a series of guest chef dinners starting on 29 July with London chef Milly Legares, author of the Umai cookbook.
