Fancy modern dim sum is on the menu at Dim Sum Library opening in Covent Garden

dim sum library opening in london's covent garden

After so many Italian restaurant openings, it's refreshing to be talking about something different throwing open its doors in London next month. Dim Sum Library is a Hong Kong import by the Aqua Group and is going to be taking over what used to be the group's Luci restaurant in Covent Garden.

They're pitching it as a modern take on classic dim sum, and they've brought in chefs Jian Jia (who spent six years with Din Tai Fun as head chef) and Leung Kwok Wah who launched the restaurant in Hong Kong to run it.

Signature dim sum will include wagyu beef puff with black pepper, dan dan xiao long bao and black garlic siu mai, all of which you'll be able to watch being made at a chef station in the entrance. In addition to the dim sum, they'll also have luxe options like black truffle crispy chicken and steamed Alaskan black cod with Sichuan pepper on the menu.

It sounds like cocktails will be a thing here too, with a Chinoiserie-style bar that offers a mix of classic pours and tea-infused creations.
