Even before the opening of the big new Guinness HQ in Covent Garden later this year, there's been talk of whether we've yet reached "peak Guinness" in London (our feature suggested not). Well, this latest offering might be just enough to push things over the edge.
Black Tap Burgers, recently opened in Soho, are already known for their crazy milkshakes but they've now gone one considerable step further. Clearly, they've been eyeing up the punters drinking Guinness outside the Devonshire and inspired by that continued devotion to the black stuff, they've come up with the official Guinness milkshake. Yes, they've actually teamed up with Guinness themselves for this offering.
There is a standard Guinness shake, but it's their Crazy Shake version that you really want. Inside this concoction is: A half pint of Guinness, a chocolate-flavoured shake base, chocolate sauce lining the glass, a vanilla-frosted rim rolled in white chocolate chips and whipped cream. And, because this just isn't enough, it's all topped with a slice of Guinness chocolate cake and a chocolate brownie. It is available in 0% form too, if you're swerving alcohol.
Yes, it sounds insane but personally, we'd totally have one. So the next time you're having a pint in the Devonshire and fancy something a bit sweeter, just head down the road for one of these shakes.
