When does the promotion run?
Every Monday - Wednesday in August. (So that's actually 3-26 August).
What discount can I get in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme?
It's 50% off food and drink (excluding alcohol) up to a maximum of £10 per person (adult or child). A few restaurants (like Dishoom) are removing the £10 cap, but you'll need to check with them individually.
It's worth knowing that if you have another discount (like one of our reader offers), you should be able to use that on top of the government scheme (but we'd advise you also double-check this with the restaurant).
What do I need to do to get the discount
Just turn up. If the restaurant, cafe or pub is taking part in the scheme, they'll have done all the work. All you need to do is turn up and your discount should be applied when you pay. As the name implies, you actually need to eat at the restaurant to get the discount - takeaway and deliveries are not included.
And how do I find out who's taking part?
That's where the government's own website comes in. They've created a postcode checker which will reveal all the nearby restaurants that have signed up within a 5-mile radius.
That might not include the larger chains - but you can double-check those on the A-Z list here.
If in doubt, check a restaurant's Instagram feed - they should indicate if they're taking part there.
And what if I want to get a discount for the rest of the week?
That's easy - just check out our reader offers - many of them will work over the entire week. Here are our latest offers:
