How to celebrate Bastille Day in London

If you're looking for ways to celebrate Bastille Day (Sunday 14 July) in London this weekend, then we have some Gallic suggestions for you...

 

On the river, Le Pont de la Tour is throwing a Bastille Terrace Party. From 12pm to 4pm there'll be live music, a Moet & Chandon Champagne tower, Fruits de la Mer seafood platters,oysters and a bottomless BBQ.

Orrery in Marylebone is going for an all classics four course menu for lunch and dinner. There'll be a champagne reception and dishes include Boeuf en Croute, Pommes Purée, Truffle and Madeira Sauce along with Strawberry Meringue, Chantilly and Sorbet. The welcome drink and four courses with matching wines is £95.

Jason Atherton’s Hai Cenato has chosen Gregory Marchand, Chef Patron of Frenchie Covent Garden for this month's pizza collaboration Marchand's ‘Tarte Flambée’ sourdough pizza features crème fraiche, fromage blanc, smoked Bacon and onions finished with Munster cheese. It's £15.50 with £1.00 of every pizza sold going to the charity, Hospitality Action.

Bethnal Green bar Coupette is teaming up with Parisian bar Danico ( 73 in World's 100 Best Bars list) and St Germain, for a Bastille Day takeover on Sunday 14th July. There'll be five special cocktails on the list including Sacrée Parisienne (Brown Butter & Tonka Grey Goose, St-Germain, Raspberry Shrub, Absinthe, Champagne Blanc de Blanc).

Sardine is where Michelin-starred chef Pascal Aussignac is heading on Bastille Day for a Gascony x Provence lunch with their chef Alex. Dishes on the collaboration menu include Salt Cod Brandade Stuffed Courgette Flowers and tickets start at £40.

Maitre Choux branches are putting on special eclairs adorned with the French flag for Bastille Day. Available in two flavours, Salted Butter and Homemade Caramel and Dark Chocolate.
