    Anyone taking a stroll round Battersea Park this Autumn will soon have what looks to be an exciting cafe to try. Pear Tree Café, which will overlook the park's Boating Lake, is a new venture by Annabel Partridge and Will Burrett, former Sous Chefs at Petersham Nurseries and Spring Restaurant respectively.

    Mainly a daytime cafe it'll be serving breakfast and a seasonal all-day lunch menu until dusk on weekdays, brunch at weekends but with regular pop-up

    Down in Deptford the food scene is going great guns - and now there's a cracking new gastropub to entice locals. The Brookmill, which opens just after the August bank holiday, is the sister pub to The Great North Wood.

    This summer there's going to be meyhane in Marylebone. Nope that's not a typo. Apparently, a meyhane is a Turkish tavern - which is what Yosma, a new mangal and raki bar in Marylebone is basing itself on. And it's got some rather interesting folk involved.

    Over in Knightsbridge the multi-million pound renovation of The Franklin Hotel has come to an end with the hotel reopening today. The property was closed for a year while it was done up by new owners the Italian group Starhotels, who brought in Anouska Hempel to oversee the new-look.
