One of London's hottest new bakeries has just opened a new store, in Holland Park, making West Londoners' plans to diet in January utterly futile.
Buns from Home is the passion project of local baker Barney Goff who started out selling his buns at Portobello Market and delivering them door to door during the lockdown. He then roped in brother Gabriel to the business before the brothers opened their first shop last summer following a successful crowdfunding campaign.
"Such a big moment for us," said Barney on Instagram of the new bakery which incidentally is "just around the corner from my home where it all started.
"The store is a completely different design from our Notting Hill store," he added, "all the homeliness of Notting Hill, with a more rustic feel."
As to what you can expect when you go, the signature bake in question features layered croissant dough hand-rolled into a muscovado sugar-cinnamon bun, criss-crossed with homemade icing. They also do cardamom, tiramisu and double-baked pistachio versions among others. If your tastes bend more towards the savoury opt for their foccacias or pesto and cheese braids.
