This comes from the same people behinid Mr Bao and Daddy Bao, but they're moving to Cantonese cooking for this opening and specifically concentrating on wonton soup.

They've been a mainstay of Brixton Village for the past eight years, now the same team behind Guzzl deli are opening Guzzl Canteen, a gourmet hot dog and rum bar.

After a hit pop-up at Patara, Khao‑Sō‑i is opening permanently just off Oxford Circus. Expect their signature coconut curry noodle soup plus bold Northern Thai small plates like Sai Ua and Larb Kua.

A striking new building, looking like it's clad in shiny, reflective aluminium, is getting ready to open in Canary Wharf. And coming as part of that are a new Amazing Grace and a House of the Gods hotel with a rooftop bar and restaurant.

Plaza Khao Gaeng
In a nutshell: Spicey Thai mk II

As well as having success with Speedboat Bar, Luke Farrell also has a new Plaza Khao Gaeng on the way, following on from the popular Arcade outlet. Expect one of London's spiciest dishes to make an appearance on this Thai menu.

- Arcade Food Hall (Covent Garden) - What was TGI Friday will be transformed into a new food hall.
- Notto (City of London) - The latest outpost of Phil Howard's pasta bar.
- Mazi (Mayfair) - The popular Notting Hill restaurant in Notting Hill has its sights set on Mayfair's Bruton Place.
- New food court (Waterloo) - The team behind Vinegar Rard are opening a big food court beside the Imax in Waterloo.
- Big Mamma - They might be opening their next Italian restaurant next to 1 Lombard St
- Des Gunewardena in Canary Wharf - The Ex-D&D CEO is taking back Plateau

- Portal Way - A huge new building hosting hundreds of kitchens and a food court is coming to Acton
Could go either way:
- Materia Prima (Marylebone) - SOLA's Victor Garvey does high-end dining in Marylebone, depending on a crowdfunder.
- Dué - Jesús Durón, executive chef of Pujo, which is in the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, is teaming up with Lindsay Jang of Hong Kong's Yardbird for a restaurant that's pitched as serving up "globally inspired, seasonally-focused upscale dining".
- Ergon House (Covent Garden) - This might bethe London outpost of Greek boutique hotel group ERGON House, in which they were planning to have both a rooftop restaurant and a bakery, butchers, fishmongers and greengrocer on the ground floor. Things have gone quiet, on this one recently.
- Brasseria (South Kensington) - This was due to take over La Brasserie on Brompton Road as the third restaurant in the Brasseria group but things have gone quiet on this front.
- Paris Society - The group behind Louie restaurant could be opening just opposite The Connaught
- Ronaldo and CZN Burak - the duo are planning a London restaurant together
- Alkbulan Dining Hall - a very promising food hall celebrating African cuisine.
- The Loulou Group - the people behind Paris restaurants Loulou and Girafe are heading to London for their first UK opening.
- Porsche Hotel - yes, that's right, the people behind the sports cars are getting into the hotel business
- Wagyumafia are allegedly bringing their VERY expensive sandwiches to London - with both a sandwich shop and a butcher's kitchen.
- The Trellis skyscraper, currently being built, will have a high-rise restaurant.
