News that hit the internet last week that a second Da Michaele pizzeria was going to open a second London restaurant had us pretty excited, but sadly it looks as though it's not actually happening.
Both industry site MCA and Eaterreported that the British team behind the Stoke Newington pizzeria
We know a LOT of people go weak at the knees for a baklava - so this should prove irresistable. In Stoke Newington, The Lacy Nook has just launched a baklava ice-cream sandwich. It's a "Nutty Baklava with flor de latte ice cream (made by Nonnas Gelato), strawberry-mango compote & mint."

A neighbourhood restaurant that you're going to want to cross town to try
A VERY promising new restaurant is on the way to Newington Green (that's about half-way between Stoke Newington and Dalston). Called Perilla, it's from chef Ben Marks (ex Claridges, The Square, and Noma) and front-of-house Matt Emerson (Polpo and Polpetto). PLUS it's being backed by a team that includes Philip Howard. You may have come across them in pop-ups across London, as well as a long spot
Stoke Newington continues to attract a host of interesting new openings, the most recent among them being Newington Table. Their all-day breakfast menu ranges from the ubiquitous avo on toast to a pretty amazing sounding full English consisting of Sourdough, egg, sausage, thick cut bacon, black pudding, bone marrow, beans, tomato, mushroom for £11.50.

Just in time to do brisk trade as the temperatures dip, The Stoke Newington Tea House has just opened on Stoke Newington Church Street, taking over the Daniel Dafoe. And anyone who knew the old pub will be pretty surprised when they return - particularly as there's no longer a a bar. That's been replaced with more of a beer wall. What will be on offer is six hand pulls with regularly rotating craft ales, as well as lagers, bitters and stouts.
