Opening its doors on Holloway Road today is new wine and cheese store Provisions. It's the brainchild of two ex-Borough Wine blokes - Hugo and Ben. "We want to put the producer at the fore and tell their story to people here," Ben told Hot Dinners. "It’s what got us hooked on them in the first place and what we love about working with them."

Expect to find around 100 wines in stock from France and Italy. There'll be a wine refill system where a reusable bottle

  • Noble Rot team up with Sportsman pair to open London wine bar and restaurant

02/11/2015 - updated with soft launch info

Vats wine bar has been a pleasingly low-key place to quaff wine down on Lamb's Conduit Street since the 70s. In fact, Hot Dinners has rather pleasant, but vague, memories of evenings spent there so if anyone was going to take it

A year on from opening Mission in Bethnal Green, from the wonder wine due Sager + Wilde, is hitting its strike with a whole new team both in the kitchen and front of house. Taking over from James de Jong in the kitchen is Australian chef Sebastien Myers. Myer worked under Nuno Mendes at Viajante before heading up the kitchen at Chiltern Firehouse. He's most recently done a stage at Faviken before joining Mission.

And Seb has gathered an interesting team with him.

Back in 2013 a rather interesting wine bar, Margaux opened its doors in Fulham, billing itself as a gastro wine bar. Fast forward two years and Margaux is now the hangout for the likes of Pippa Middleton & Co and the owners are planning a second venture in Chelsea.

Bandol will feature a menu of Nicoise and Provencal sharing dishes. Husband and wife team Sylvia Kontek and Vittorio Monge have brought in Zsolt Ferencz from Scott's.

Battersea Rise looks to be a good place for wine lovers with the opening of Humble Grape's wine bar. The wine importer - which specialises in seeking out handcrafted wines from small, relatively undiscovered vineyards around the world - crowdfunded £500k to open this, their first bar.

Upstairs customers can buy wines to take home while downstairs they can drink them by the glass or bottle at the bar for a fraction of the standard on-trade markup. Wines

Arbutus in Soho is getting ready to launch a new series of head to head wine wars - where the co-founder of Arbutus will challenge some of the wine world's best over which wine best matches Anthony Demetre's menu. • Berry Bros and Rudd launch new cellar and team up with Gymkhana, Medlar and Dabbous

We're really liking the look of Berry Bros new cellar in St James, which they've just opened, partnering up with some pretty impressive London restaurants in the process.

The collaborations are all part of their Cellar Series, where the brand new space (which will be mainly available for private events) will be taken over by a restaurant - with 40 places available for a
