    Hix's Tramshed is re-launching and the chicken and steak just got a lot bigger

    There's change afoot at Mark Hix's Shoreditch spot Tramshed, which is about to relaunch. Originally started as a chicken and steak place, that premise remains the same - but everything got a lot bigger. The first of the two main events is the "Yard of Beef" - that's a huge 1.5kg of 28-day aged rib of beef on the bone for £95 (serving a minimum of 3-4). There's also the Big Bird - a huge Capon chook

  • Hibiscus chef Claude Bosi and his brother have bought The Swan Inn in Esher

    We hear that Michelin-starred chef and his brother, Cedric, have just bought a new pub. They're take over the Swan Inn in Esher which will be welcome news, we expect, for the locals.

    Head chef will Justin West, who has previously worked with Claude while the pub manager will be Joseph Hendriks who was at the brothers' previous west London pub, The Fox & Grapes in Wimbledon Village.

  • Galvin restaurants to launch deluxe pub HOP in Spitalfields

    The team behind much-loved London restaurants Galvin have launched HOP in Spitalfields market. Opening in place of Galvin Cafe a vin, Galvin’s HOP will swap wine for beer bringing fresh Pilsner Urquell Tank Beer (served in the same style as at Duck & Rice), a range of craft beers, wine on tap by OW Loeb and an entirely new menu featuring classic pub dishes as well as a range of premium hot dogs.

  • Hedone plans radical new approach relaunching with no menu

    Well it's all change at Hedone which, in a surprise announcement today, revealed that it's to shut and reopen in a radical new form.

    The restaurant is going to close for 10 days. During that time it'll get new furniture and the dining room will have a minor makeover, but when it reopens it aims to be quite a different restaurant. To start with there'll be far fewer seats.   • Asia de Cuba reopens with new look and menu

    It's all go at Asia de Cuba, the restaurant at St Martins Lane. The restaurant has been underdoing a redesign - both of its space and menu - and the booking line reopens today.

    The chef behind the new menu is Luis Pous, who grew up and trained as a chef in Cuba. His reworking of the menu at the restaurant sees it split into Ceviches, Small Plates, Salads, Wok, and Plancha.
