The revitalisation of Islington's dining scene continues apace with news of another interesting restaurant opening on Upper Street. Galley restaurant and bar takes over the space occupied by United Ramen and is a venture by brother and sister team Oriona Robb and Marcel Grzyb.

Marcel's been Head Chef at Soho’s Randall & Aubin for a decade and, as you might expect given his background, he's put together a menu with a strong focus on seafood.

Dishes you can expect include Crab Burger with handpicked Devonshire crab, samphire and claw sauce and a Lobster BLT made with

  • Claw residency comes to Dalston's Three Compasses for the winter

This rather fine looking shellfish dish is the crab burger from Claw. And if just gazing at that photo makes you fancy it half as much as we do right now, you'll be wanting to know that the streetfood folk behind it have just taken residency at The Three Compasses in Dalston.

From this week until the end of January they'll be serving up a mainly crab-based menu with all their crab coming from Start Bay in Devon.

There'll be five burgers on offer

Kensington Place has recently had a bit of a refurb and now they're adding something new - a pop up chippy. The food, as befits its location, is certainly more upmarket than most fish and chip shops.

For instance, on the menu will be:

    • Lobster Thermi-Bun, a savoury doughnut filled with lobster thermidor sauce (pictured).
    • Bitter & Twisted Scampi - made with whisky-cask-matured Harviestoun

Hawksmoor Guildhall gets a bit fishy

Ever since opening Air Street, which successfully brought fish to Hawksmoor menus in collaboration with Mitch Tonks, the rest of the Hawksmoors have been showing some fishy influences. The latest is Guildhall in the City which has, apparently at the request of some Guildhall regulars, just added some new fish dishes to that menu.

So if you head down to Hawksmoor Guildhall, expect these dishes, completely new to the

Bouillabaisse is the next restaurant from Kurt Zdesar, who most recently opened Chotto Matte in Soho - and is best known for opening the first Nobu in London. This time the focus is firmly on seafood and with a particular effort at sustainability. To that end, he's done a bit of travelling visiting day-boat fisherman in Greece, Spain and the UK and is aiming to bring some of their practices to the
