Just steps away from Liverpool Street station, you'll find The Evolv Collection's new Liverpool Street Chophouse and Tavern. Led by chef Mark Reid (who used to be at M Restaurants), it's a new opening that celebrates seasonal British produce and Ethical Butcher steaks, all alongside a tavern pouring perfect pints in the heart of the City.
It's the latest and redefined chophouse in a group that was originally launched by Terence Conran, now with a new menu from Reid, who also worked at Le Gavroche and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Here, you'll find dishes like lamb Barnsley chop with anchovy dressing and beef shin & oyster suet pudding.
Then we come to the steaks, which have been sourced from The Ethical Butcher, with cuts including rib eye, fillet, sirloin, and heart of rump. You'll even be able to choose the type of bespoke steak knife you want to use for the main event, with six choices created by Blenheim Forge.
But you'll want to save space for puddings, with classic options like treacle tart, sticky toffee pudding, spotted dick and sherry trifle all on the dessert list. And that's all within a classic-looking room with lots of dark wood and deep blue leather throughout.
The restaurant has already been getting rave reviews, with David Ellis in The Standard saying the steaks were "were as comforting and perfect as false memories of first love."
