The best of the Lockhart has arrived at Soho's Shotgun

Lockhart cornbread at Shotgun

Earlier this year, there was the sad news that The Lockhart was closing, but if you lived in fear at never getting that cornbread again - then worry no more. Some of the best dishes of the Lockhart are finding their way over to a new menu at Brad McDonald's Soho restaurant Lockhart.

Finding themselves on the menu are:

  • Cornbread with Honey Butter - ordered fresh to the table, it's one of London's must-have dishes
  • Shrimp and Anson Mills Cheddar Grits - smoked bacon, button mushrooms and heritage grains from South Carolina’s Anson Mills.
  • Cornish Crab Dirty Rice (we LOVE the Dirty Rice) - cooked with small chunks of chicken liver, garlic, Andouille sausage and brown crab.

And there's their much-loved fried chicken, That's being made available in a family-style Fried Chicken Dinner banquet, served with "cornbread and all the fixins". In that dinner (for 8) you'll get 20 pieces of chicken included for £20 a head.

All this now sits alongside the smoked meats that Shotgun is best known for - so there's plenty of brisket, ribs and more too.

Shotgun is at 26 Kingly Street, Soho, London, W1B 5QD. For more, follow them on Twitter @ShotgunBBQ.
