Ex-Texture chef to open Dabbous on Soho’s Whitfield Street

Updated 16/1/2012 - Reservations are now open. Call 020 7323 1544 to book. Dabbous will open on 20 January 2012.

Noho workers and residents will get a new spot to try in Spring with the news that Dabbous restaurant is opening on Whitfield Street early next year. It’s a first restaurant for chef Ollie Dabbous who used to be Head Chef at Michelin-starred Texture and was described by Restaurant magazine as one of the ‘young chefs shaping tomorrow’s world’.

Dabbous will be on the site of the former Cyberia cafe. It will have a street-level dining room and basement bar. The menu will change seasonally, and feature a range of small dishes priced between £4 and £14. You can expect to see such dishes as Beef tartar with cigar oil, whiskey and rye; mashed potato, roasting juices and black truffle as well as homemade apple vinegar and chocolate clay with sheep's milk ice cream & basil. There will be a set lunch at a reasonable £21 for three courses and a seven-course tasting menu at £49.

Downstairs in the basement bar Oskar Kinberg, bar manager of the Cuckoo Club  will serve up classic drinks and signature cocktails such as the Dillusion - cucumber, elderflower and dill muddled with Bloom's gin, ice and lemon - using homemade sugars and infusions. A limited selection of bar snacks will be offered alongside the full restaurant menu. We like the sound of the open steak sandwich with tobacco butter and onions pickled in wheat beer.

Dabbous will be at 39 Whitfield Street, London W1 and open Tuesday to Saturday, the restaurant for lunch and dinner and the bar from noon until 11.30pm.
