Pizzeria Pi comes to Battersea with cauliflower cheese pizza and more...

Cauliflower cheese pizza has come to Battersea with pizzeria Pi

What: Pi

In a nutshell: Contemporary pizza in Battersea

Summing it all up: A new pizzeria is coming to Battersea with a creative list of toppings, starter plates, and cocktails - including a smoked chocolate Manhattan…

The low-down

A new pizzeria has opened on the genteel streets of Battersea Rise called Pi, which will be a sister restaurant to its flagship in Winchester.

It certainly ticks all the pizzeria boxes, from a woodfired oven to a restaurateur who cut her teeth in Florence, plus a healthy cocktail list and those all-important small plates.

Pizza toppings veer towards the more creative side of things, so don’t head in expecting a simple Quattro Formaggio. Instead, expect to see the likes of Lebanese spiced ground lamb, balsamic roasted aubergines, Hampshire pork sausage and Old Winchester cauliflower cheese. Crusts should be light and airy too, thanks to the dough’s 72-hour fermentation process.

There’ll also be heaps of little starters for you to nibble on, perhaps while you pull up a stool at their 25-seat bar area, including a mixed Bruschetta board with porcini cream and Isle of Wight tomatoes, garlic flatbreads with olive tapenade, truffle ham and salmon tartare with beetroot and avocado.

And if you're at the bar already, you may as well browse their drinks menu, which is similarly outgoing, featuring concoctions like a smoked chocolate Manhattan or a pear and rhubarb Collins.
