Byron launch new bourbon burger and bourbon list

Hot Dinners popped into the recently opened Byron on Rathbone Place this week for an evening of beef and booze, Kentucky-style. We were there for the launch of a new section to the burger restaurant's drinks menu.

Starting this week, in addition to their usual finely-honed menu of craft beers, diners can also work their way through a list of ten Kentucky bourbons, chosen by Byron's founder Tom Byng.

bourbon boilermaker at byronByng was there, having just flown back the day before from a trip to Kentucky to tour round various distilleries. "It's never the same talking to suppliers here," he told us. "I wanted to go and meet the people behind the bourbon and their passion for what they were doing was just amazing."

As part of Byron's homage to the American whisky, there's now a Bourbon Burger on offer for £8.50 which features Monterey Jack cheese and a bourbon BBQ sauce on Byron’s classic patty, in a glazed bun. Better still is the Boilermaker special deal - for just £14.50 you can have any Byron burger, a beer and a bourbon chaser. Not bad for a cash-strapped January evening out.

As an aside, this latest Byron really has to be one of their most architecturally-striking restaurants to date - set in a 200-year-old coaching inn, it's a perfect example of Byron's commitment to making each of their places look distinct from others in the chain.

Byron At The Black Horse is at 6 Rathbone Place, W1.
