Mazarine in Mayfair sees an ex-LPM chef taking coastal French cooking to Hanover Square

Mazarine in Mayfair sees an ex-LPM chef taking coastal French cooking to Hanover Square

French restaurants have been a booming business in 2026 and the latest to join that trend is Mazarine.

This comes from the team behind Sparrow Italian and is run by ex-LPM chef Thierry Laborde (and who was previously head chef of Le Gavroche). It's taking a southern/coastal approach to French cooking, so expect things here to have a Mediterranean feel (another big trend of the past year).

The focus here will be seafood, so you'll find dishes like their croque mazarine (smoked eel croquettes), octopus béarnaise, raviole of cornish crab and le grand aïoli marseillais (salt cod, sea urchin, langoustines, seasonal vegetables) on the menu. Although there will be dishes like aged filet de boeuf with truffle sauce too.

It's opening on the same corner of Hanover Square that the Mandarin Oriental is on, but this appears to be the main restaurant space on the outside corner. It looks like a similar situation to Carbone and Chancery Rosewood - i.e they're in the same building but not actually part of the hotel.
