It's all change once more in Shoreditch, as the hotel that was formerly The Curtain and then The Mondrian has now transformed into 45 London. With the change in ownership comes a new restaurant (in the space that was Red Rooster followed by Bibo).
45 Curtain Road has taken two of the biggest London restaurant trends this year and brought them together under one roof. It'll be a Japanese chophouse with a menu influenced by the Mediterranean. Running the show is Executive Chef Alex Furusawa-Cadoni who's ex-Ginza St James and, most relevantly used to be head chef at the high end Mayfair Japanese grill Tokimeitē.
To get an idea of the offering, there'll be dishes like Japanese milk bread with sobrasada, yuzu and honey, whole blue lobster with sansho butterand steaks like their Rubia Gallega bone-in rib eye steak a dry-aged grass-fed T-bone steak. As for desserts, they'll have a burnt miso and yuzu cheesecake on the menu.
The restaurant isn't the only place to check out at the new hotel, there's also a rooftop space which is now 45th and 7th and a late night DJ lounge bar.
