Lita brings live fire cooking to Marylebone

Ever since a reader brought our attention to an Instagram account for a new restaurant opening in Marylebone called Lita, we've been digging behind the scenes to find out more. First up, we learned that the chef involved, Luke Ahearne, has a strong London background having previously most recently worked at Gordon Ramsay restaurants and before that was Head Chef at Corrigan's Mayfair.

Next, we have the group of people behind Lita. Those are George Bukhov and Ilya Demichev who are behind Wild, The Belvedere and Burger & Lobster. Joining them for this project is Canadian-born restaurateur Daniel Koukarskikh.

The space they've taken over is the old Carluccio's on Paddington Street in Marylebone where it looks like they're getting pretty close to opening. On the ground floor there'll be an open kitchen if you fancy watching a bit of live fire cooking and the menu we're told will be "sourcing the finest ingredients from top producers and suppliers across the UK, Ireland, and Europe". To that end, we can see they've already made a pilgrimage down to Cornwall to check out the meat fridge at Phillip Warren Butchers.

We don't know much more than that at the moment, but this certainly looks like a restaurant opening to keep an eye on.
