Is Jeremy King's next restaurant just opposite The Wolseley?

Is Jeremy King's next restaurant just opposite The Wolseley?

We recently heard news of Jeremy King's much-anticipated return to the London restaurant scene with The Park. At the same time, the legendary restaurateur let it drop that it was not the only restaurant he was looking to open in the near future - with his sights next set on a return to the West End.

Now, in a feature on King in The FT, another piece of the puzzle might have come into view. During that, the article reported that one of the properties he was looking at was "the Grade II-listed former NatWest bank on Piccadilly - just across the road from The Wolseley". The FT notes that the news didn't actually come from Jeremy King himself, but from "three people familiar with the matter". King himself didn't disclose the restaurant location but said it was at an advanced stage.

So could this be the stage for his West End return? Looking at the location on Google, it really is almost directly across the road from The Wolseley and would be one hell of a statement from King. His exit from the Corbin & King group (now The Wolseley Hospitality Group) last year meant he had to leave behind his most famous restaurant, so opening directly opposite would be quite a move.

We're also told that this will be the first of two new restaurants that are opening after The Park, so he's a very busy man. We'll bring you more news about his next restaurant when we get it - and in the meantime read all about The Park restaurant here.
