As the year winds down, we're hearing about the odd restaurant that didn't appear on our radar before and one of them is Willows in Clapham.
The restaurant opened in late November and is something they're defining as a "deli-to-restaurant" affair that's inspired by Scandinavian ‘smörgåsbords’. So that means they serve brunch boards all day, and then cheese and charcuterie in the evening - all of which you can create yourselves.
Those brunch boards let you piece together a meal from sections that include bakery, dairy, protein and greens. So you could combine something that includes banana bread with cherry Bakewell granola, scrambled eggs and streak bacon with a mushroom pate on the side.
In the evening, it's all about building your own charcuterie board. So options there include Baron Bigod, Keen's cheddar, Islington saucisson, peppercorn salami, serrano ham, fennel salami, nocellara olives, truffle & pecorino nuts and lots more. That's all backed up by a short wine list, and cocktails that include a hazelnut espresso martini.
Certainly sounds like a good new option to check out in Clapham.
