Cantinetta Antinori comes to London with Florentine T-bones and fine wines

Cantinetta Antinori opening in London

Updated 31/3/23 with more details

The Antinori family are arguably the most famous name in Italian wines, so it's fair to expect that their upcoming London restaurant will have a pretty decent wine list. Cantinetta Antinori will be an interesting team-up in Knightsbridge between the Italian winemakers and the Monaco family - the Giraudis - who opened Le Petit Beefbar in London last year.

The restaurant, just off Sloane Street, will be the Antinori family's first in the UK (there are already branches in Monte Carlo and Moscow). In London, it'll take over a three-storey building next door to Gucci and Louis Vuitton and, we're told, there'll be "all-day traditional Tuscan dining, fine wines and live jazz, in an informal yet refined environment".

As for the food, dishes on the launch menu will include:

  • Prosciutto di Wagyu
  • Crispy octopus with potato cream
  • Fettunta with kale (we had to look that up - fettunta is roasted bread rubbed with garlic)
  • Tiramisù served tableside

If you just want to pop in for a glass of good wine or a small bite, then the bar is the place to head. That'll be open all day serving up Italian charcuterie, wine by the glass and strong espressos. They're planning a private dining space and - in the summer - the outdoor terrace is bound to be a draw.
