Hackney's Towpath Cafe has reopened - with dinner service planned and a new book on the way

One of London's best loved cafes reopens for business today. The announcement that Hackney's Towpath Cafe would reopen will surely be met with joy by its legions of fans. In a post on their website, owners Lori De Mori and Laura Jackson said that from this morning they'd be open Thursday through to Sunday.

In addition to their gorgeous breakfasts and lunch dishes, they'll be doing a dinner service on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. "One seating only, at 7:30pm. The cost is £40 per person plus wine and service."

If all that isn't enough good news, then you should also know that the duo are also about to publish their first book. Towpath: Recipes and Stories is being published by Chelsea Green in October 2020. They say the book is: "a collection of recipes, stories and photographs capturing its food, community and place throughout the arc of its season—beginning just before the first breath of spring, through the dog days of summer and culminating—with fireworks!—before its painted shutters are rolled down again for winter.”

It should do well, not least for having an A-list endorsement from Keira Knightley who says: "Towpath is one of the reasons I live in London. It’s a jewel-like, dream of a place. Somewhere to sit and watch the world go by. It’s the perfect mix of strength and fragility. A treat for each one of the senses. This book is an invite into their magical world."
