    bibs

Ahead of the announcement of newly Michelin-starred restaurants on Monday, the Michelin Guide has been busy today announcing new Bib Gourmands on Twitter.

We think they've finished announcing the new Bibs for London restaurants. And if so, the list is somewhat shorter than last year - 10 compared to the 15 new Bibs last year. But it's a good list,

The annual AA 2017 Hospitality Awards took place last night and several folk in London had reason to be very pleased with themselves indeed.

The ceremony named a number of new five and four rosette restaurants around the country. London didn't get any new 5-rosette spots, but two restaurants, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and East London's The Typing Room were awarded four meaning their cooking “demands national recognition”.

The evening celebrated the best of

    worldsbilbao

Hot Dinners was down in Aldwych this morning for the announcement of the location of 2018's World's 50 Best Restaurants. So the party location was Eneko at One Aldwych, chefs in attendance included Eneko Atxa from Azurmendi; it didn't take a genius to work out that the next location would be Bilbao. It's a great spot for the awards to return to Europe, having been to Australia and America for the past two years.

The region has a good history for doing well

And so, to another World's 50 Best List which has just been announced with a chef-filled black tie do in Australia. With just three UK restaurants in the upper part of the list it wasn't the most exciting year for Britain in general. But it was a pretty good year for Heston Blumenthal. First his London restaurant Dinner By Heston crept up 5 places in the list to 36. And then Heston himself picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award - a popular decision that

  • The World's 50 Best 2017 51-100 is revealed

    The World's 50 Best 2017 50-100 is revealed

Yes, it's nearly that time again. The new World's 50 Best list is revealed next week - and that means we get a sneak peak today with the reveal of 51-100.

What does it mean for London on the list... well there's very little change. Lyles goes up (from 65 to 54), Hedone down (from 60 to 98) and St John doesn't move at all. So it's the very definition of "no surprises". Hopefully, there'll be more to see in the top 50 when the full list is revealed
