How are your plans shaping up for the four-day bank holiday weekend? If you wish you'd sorted out an escape from town, our new feature on the best new countryside inns to stay at will be handy for the May bank holidays at least. But if you're staying in London, we do have a roundup of some fun stuff going on around town.
What might be useful to do, as town empties out, is to try and get a booking at the new Berenjak in Mayfair. Here's what we thought of it.

Hell's Kitchen - Marylebone It originally launched in Las Vegas and now Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen restaurant (a spin-off of the series) has arrived in London, inside The Cumberland near Marble Arch.
Auguste - London Fields Auguste has taken over the old Papi space in Hackney and they'll have an Italian/Abruzzo menu with a particular focus on grilled skewers
Pillar Hall - Olympia Ex-D&D head Des Gunewardena is behind this opening in the newly refurbed Olympia, which features a restaurant, speakeasy-style bar and a huge events space.

Weezie's - Belgravia Coming from the team that run the nearby Amie Wine Studio, this is a pizza-focused restaurant and wine bar with a range of thin-crust pizzas in the London/New Haven-style. Opens 7 April 2026
Mitsu - Shoreditch Taking over the space that used to be Nobu Shoreditch, this is a new Japanese restaurant that's reimagined the space, giving it more of a Shoreditch vibe, with the food including sharing robata dishes cooked over Japanese charcoal. Opens 6 April 2026
Acme Taco - Walthamstow Acme Fire Cult continues its association with 40FT Brewery at their Walthamstow location as chef Andrew Clarke launches a regional Mexican take on tacos, using double tortillas. Opens 3 April 2026
