Having lived through the dark days of a slice or two of expensive sourdough being the solitary bread option in restaurants, we're delighted to have made it through to the current period where anything from shokupan to Parker House rolls might be the bread offering. Today, we're shining a light on the best recent bread courses we've had in London restaurants.

Staying firmly in carb territory, we also made an early visit to Taq, the new era for the Notting Hill Taqueria. Key takeaway? Their cheeseburger taco is to die for.
