| Soho, Fitzrovia, Covent Garden

James Knappett and his wife Sandia Chang turned out to be a formidable double act when they opened a restaurant of two halves. This is the hot-dog half at the front of the restaurant, serving up gourmet hot dogs alongside grower champagnes and other sparkling wines.

"I’m more excited by Bubbledogs than any new London restaurant I’ve tried since Dabbous, where you can wait months for a table. The hot dogs are great, the Champagnes are varied and inexpensive, and the service is first- class." READ REVIEW

"The sausages have an authentic burst and bite to them. But we found the fixings were too insistent to partner well with champagne." READ REVIEW

"Bubbledogs is a marketing idea, an expensive gimmick, flirtatious and fun up to the point where you get the bill. Really, truly? It’s the theme for a student party, not for a business or grown-ups." READ REVIEW

"Based on our choice... the dryness of a pleasantly flinty, complex glass of Laherte Blanc de Blancs sat well alongside the toned-down spice in the kimchi and the chilli, proving this offers more than just novelty appeal." READ REVIEW

"Bubbledogs teams four-star drinking with two-star dining. We hope that.. Kitchen Table (a tiny Modern European restaurant on the same site) ...will be a little more consistent." READ REVIEW

"...it certainly seemed to be keeping the punters happy on our lunchtime visit. But a younger colleague, a New Yorker, who subsequently went on a Saturday evening, found the hot dog too bland and well-mannered, and the appeal of the overall formula difficult to see." READ REVIEW

"Chang and Knappett... as a working couple, are quite obviously a match made in heaven. The jury is still out on whether the same can be said about hotdogs and champagne, but Bubbledogs makes for quite the guilty pleasure, nonetheless." READ REVIEW

"...we've all had hot dogs before but the range of toppings Bubbledogs has put together are mini masterpieces in fast food for £6 a pop." READ REVIEW
