This small Parkway restaurant doesn't like to conform to labels. Instead, it describes its sharing plates style as a blend of Asian and European cuisines and takes its cocktails seriously, too. The menu lists its wonton dish as "Wontons? Tortellini?" noting the similarity between wonton skins and traditional pasta. It also includes other fusion dishes like the Sichuan chicken burger and dumpling skin "tacos".

9 Chance St, London E2 7JB

Cycene is the restaurant inside Blue Mountain School in Shoreditch, with chef Theo Clench in charge. Here you can expect a tasting menu-only experience, with its influences in Japan and Australasia, that takes place throughout the building - from the bar to the kitchen and the dining room.

The arrival of top chef Björn Frantzén at Harrods clearly had to make one hell of an entrance to the London dining scene. Billed as a mix of Nordic gastronomy with Asian influences the space has redefined the store's gastronomic offering. It also saw them adding Harrods' first ever roof terrace with a bar and restaurant area offering views right across London.

Ilona Rose House, Manette Street, London W1D 4AL

The original Milk Beach opened in Queen's Park before opening this second more central restaurant in Soho. It's part of a redevelopment of the area brought about by the launch of the Elizabeth line. As with the original, this features a mix of South-East Asian and Mediterranean cuisine with an occasional Australian flourish.

Berkeley Square House, Berkeley Square, London W1J 6BR

Berkeley Square's see and be seen seafood restaurant (with grilled meats too). There's a super selection of Japanese whiskies at the bar and the private dining rooms are jaw-dropping.

Gordon Ramsay's first new restaurant for years in London has been inspired by 1930s Tokyo drinking dens - it's taken over the spot where Maze was on Grosvenor Square.

London is getting a new robata grill restaurant from the team at Zuma. Inko Nito on Soho's Broadwick Street will feature Japanese charcoal grilled cooking with a Korean influence.

Central London's legendary nightclub Mahiki is getting a sister venue in Kensington, with a Polynesian-themed restaurant inside called Pufferfish. Its tableside-seared salmon, champagne-topped treasure chests and tropical cocktails should reel in the celebs like its Mayfair branch.

Ravinder Bhogal is probably best known for her articles, books and TV appearances - as well as a series of successful residencies. This is her first restaurant, taking its influences from Britain, East Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
