It's fair to say that the Edgware Road probably isn't the first place you'd think of dining in some sort of modernist Japanese sky high pub. But that's exactly what's opening there this Spring. KOJAWAN - the name is an amalgam of Korea, Japan and Taiwan - is the brainchild of Bjorn Van Der Horst (Greenhouse, La Noisette, Eastside Inn) and Omar Romero (Rhodes Twenty Four, Rosewood).

The slew of new and interesting restaurants opening up in King's Cross is set to continue with news that an authentic Japanese neighbourhood restaurant Wazen is opening there next month.
What's really important is who's in the kitchen and at Wazen that's head chef Toshimasa Tanahashi who heads to KX via 30 years spent in the kitchens of Japanese restaurants Matsuri in St James, Kyubi at the Arts Club in Mayfair and Kouzu in Belgravia.
