Spanish tapas in West London
El Pirata Detapas is a younger offshoot of a long-established Mayfair tapas restaurant. Reviews so far have been good, but best of all is their set lunch menu deal - with two tapas, bread, alioli and a glass of wine or sherry for just £9. Now that's a bargain.

We were due to go to a party that was allegedly laying on food - not being the trusting types we popped in for a bite to eat at about 8pm on a Saturday night.
We chose the £21 per head tasting menu x 2 plus some vegetarian add-ons for our vegetarian friend. We decided it needed to be accompanied by quite a lot of Cava, this is probably why I cannot remember every dish. What I can remember is that we really loved it, there were no duff dishes and we would happily go back. The real stand out dish was a plate of croquette potatoes filled with creamy cheese and ham - little balls of heaven with which we tried to tempt our vegetarian friend. Not as good as Fino but a fabulous tapas place all the same.
