"The meat had proper flavour, a serious char outside and pink to purple inside. The rib-eye was almost as good. Naturally, to go with this there were more of Heston Blumenthal's triple-cooked chips." READ REVIEW
"My rib-eye steak was simply fantastic, a thick, 600g succulent edifice of rare, seared meat, its juices subtly leaking through fibres that have comprehensively broken down after being hung for 28 days." READ REVIEW

Top Quality Steak
Up until now, my best steak experience in London has been in the Gaucho chain.
Last night 5 of us went to Hawksmoor for a friend's birthday and I now have a new favourite.
We turned up at around 8.30 on a Tuesday night without a reservation and they managed to seat us within half an hour, during which time we quickly polished off a bottle of Malbec at the bar.
Steak-wise there is a choice of your standard cuts in 300/400g sizes, or the blackboard indicates the size options for Chateaubriand, Porterhouse or Bone In Prime Rib all the way up to 1.2 kg.
I shared a 900g Chateaubriand with a friend and it was cooked perfectly and delicious.
The staff were friendly and casual but attentive.
We didn't hold back with the steaks and the sides, so as a result, our food bill came to around £60/head, but for a special occasion it was well worth it. The standard cuts range between £18 to £30. The Malbec we were drinking was around £40/bottle.
