Fish and Grill

Prime fish food in Croydon

It takes a particularly brave resturateur to open a fish restaurant when others such as Fishworks are heading into receivership, but Malcolm John seems to have a knack for opening popular local bistros in South London. Certainly the first reports suggest he's managed to create a fresh and cheerful offering with Fish and Grill.

"The fish quality lives up to its promise, with a starter of squeezably plump mussels in white wine. An octopus and ham hock cassoulet also turned out to be a winner, the chunks of tentacle and hock flaking into a sauce that, at a stretch, could have packed a bit more punch." READ REVIEW

"...we dug into salt-roasted seabream (whole and on the bone), perfect with a squeeze of lemon and nothing else; halibut with crayfish butter and parsley mash was perfectly cooked, with a handsome golden crust and firm yet flaky meat." READ REVIEW
