The Mondrian Hotel on the South Bank takes over the Sea Containers building and has a riverside bar and brasserie, as well as a rooftop lounge. Seamus Mullen of New York's highly rated Tertulia is in charge of the restaurant while Ryan Chetiyawardana (AKA Mr. Lyan) is looking after the cocktail bar.

"And, oh, the vast, grilled pork chop (“It feeds up to three people”; oh no it doesn’t), its bone standing proud, its gently smoke-scented, lightly thyme-kissed snowy-pink flesh (a Cumbrian/old spot crossbreed) cut into thick slabs beneath a flourish of the perkiest watercress. A South American-style ceviche of marinated raw scallops was perfectly fresh-tasting, the seafood prettily arranged in a ring and delicately zipped up with olive oil, coriander and pepper."
