Dickie Fitz

48 Newman Street, London W1T 1QQ
Latest critic review: April 15, 2016
Critics' score: 6 out of 10

Dickie Fitz has taken the place of the Newman St tavern and is from the same people behind the Lady Ottoline. It's an all-day affair and the menu will be inspired by dishes of the Pacific - as well as having a weekend brunch that's Australian inspired.

"The menu brims with promise. On execution, it’s all a little sloppy. The gyoza were bland, saved only by a decent feisty dipping sauce. Truffle ‘macancini’ were a fight between macaroni cheese and arancini, dipped in black truffle and oddly tasting of not very much of either." READ REVIEW

"I liked Dickie Fitz immensely. It has an airy, confident feel, and if Mr Robinson's main courses lacked outstanding features, the starters and finishers made up for it. Another bonzer do from the stylish Affinity Group." READ REVIEW

"If it all sounds a bit Aussie-themed, it is, but not in a crap way. In a great way. Chef Matt Robinson (late of the Bluebird) is an excellent cook with a decent sense of humour, that’s all." READ REVIEW
