Upmarket Mexican in Covent Garden
London doesn't have much in the way of upmarket Mexican, so this gourmet offering from a high-end US chain may be just the ticket for anyone fancying an enchilada. There's a private dining room for 20, large terrace for outdoor drinking and a monthly tequila dinner which sounds lethal but fun.

"Does Cantina Laredo succeed in its aim of making us think differently about Mexican food? Only up to a point." READ REVIEW
It is rare to get such good service in London and clearly this is something they work hard on. The quality of the food was of a very high standard, with some key signature dishes, setting a standard that some other restaurants should aim for.
I have now been to Cantina on a number of occassions, ranging from a casual dinner and lunch with the lads to a business meeting and a casual dinner with the girl friend. I can truly say that the restaurant offers many things to many people and I have yet to be disappointed.
Not only is the service is of a very high standard, but the quality of the food is exceptional. I am one that sticks with his favourites and i would highly recommend the Ceviche, fillet steak and the frozen margharitas have a “punchy” kick.
Its not the cheapest restaurant one will go to but the high level of service, the consistent delivery of quality makes it an experience you will return for
I have been on the dining circuit for 15 years, im one of those trendy 30 somethings that spend excess cash on eating & drinking.
You name it I have tried it and probably enjoyed it..
Cantina Laredo sparkles from the outside and I was feeling positive about this, I eat last night, a busy Friday Night.
I started off with a ceviche, that was frozen scallops and prawns drenched in Lime Juice served on a piece of leaf lettuce??!...The fish was not fresh as the brand announces these scallops were tiny queen scallops that are FROZEN!!
Lets move on....things must be better...I had ordered the enchillada spinach....and WOW....never have i eat a bland, cold , dish in my entire life...did it look good...NO???...my daughter who is 10 would do better...I wanted out of this place..I was served by a waiter who was nice enough, but tried to upsell and pressure me into choices at every turn!! couldnt believe the amount of staff on duty...are the managers blind?...as I sat next to a table of 4 and they were most distressed at the quality of the food!..
Folks do yourselves a favour and please avoid at all costs...Mexican cuisine should be simple, tasty and hot and wahaca around the corner is far superior in every aspect. ..and cheaper, it amazes me that Cantina announces itself to be gourmet!!The only thing gourmet is the AMAZING pricing!!.The Owners have got this terribly wrong and the place is doomed to closure!!....
