Malaysian on Old Street

Sedap means delicious in Malaysian and the consensus so far is that this Old Street restaurant delivers on its name. Owners Yeoh Teng Chye and Mary Yeoh were last seen in the kitchen at Notting Hill's Nyonya.

"Culinary influences have been woven skilfully and seductively; a particularly well-made Penang char kway teow (flat rice noodle assembly), as you find at Sedap — the name means “delicious” — is one of those dishes I might give as an answer to “What would you like for your last meal on earth?” " READ REVIEW

"Sedap is hardly going to set the world on fire, but as a new little local joint, particularly one that does take away, it is going to be a welcome addition to an otherwise barren neighbourhood." READ REVIEW

"Despite the occasional misstep (including service that is warm but sometimes slow when the small dining room starts to fill up), Sedap is a good bet for homecooked Straits food." READ REVIEW
