The Fellow

Gastropub in King's Cross

Located in the gradually up and coming area of King's Cross, The Fellow offers the usual gastropub fare. You'll also find a handy roof terrace if you want to, understandably, escape from King's Cross street level.

Very average

Overall OK but let down by the speed of the kitchen. This included the deserts which they will have prepared earlier. My chicken and leek pie was fine, shredded chicken rather than chunks. The chips were slightly over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. The apple tart was scrumptious.

We had a decent bottle of wine at the right price (French Sauv Blanc). Served in nice large glasses, properly filled (ie only the bottom quarter) by the waitress. She did not come around and refill it after every sip, thankfully. They provided a bottle of tap water with having to ask. A big plus in my book.

The service was friendly without being over attentive. If anything they could have been more attentive, I suspect they were stretched as I could only see two waitresses. It would not take the management much to make the restaurant worth a 6 or even a 7 rating
