"The beef had the texture of trainers and the taste of nothing – nothing at all. Chewing it was an odd sensation, because my mouth was energetically at work, while my tastebuds were coming up with no response." READ REVIEW

"Just why the food should be so hit and miss, when so much money and craftsmanship have been lavished on the place, is puzzling; though with 370 covers in the restaurant and several sittings a night, maybe it's inevitable." READ REVIEW

Very disappointing. Horrendously expensive for quite simple fare (such as a chicken splayed naked on a plate). The staff were well-meaning, but inexperienced and apologetic. I've also never experienced so many staff, buzzing about like flies (not an African image they were probably intending) - they should be up for an employment award. You'll have 2 hostesses ushering you to your table, one cocktail waitress trying to ply you with expensive liquor, a head waiter keeping an eye on things, at least 2 table clearers hovering about ... and then of course your waitress. Yet this entourage of people failed to even conjure up a menu, despite having pretentious headsets to communicate with the person standing next to them.

Atmosphere: none
Tip: keep your eyes on the decor and try to imagine that you're not in a cheezy Las Vegas perfromance of the lion king. Better still: just go and see the Lion King. That really is worth the money.
Conversation: difficult. The music reaches night club proportions. And it's not African.
