Mark Hix comes to London's department store...

Flush from the success of Hix in Soho, Mark Hix continues to expand his empire westwards with his first in-store restaurant in London's Selfridges department store. It's located on the Mezzanine floor where the Moet champagne bar used to be and the look and feel is by Conran Associates. The Champagne Bar seats 40 and serve 'Mark’s Snax' – small dishes such as Isle of Man queenies with chorizo, potted ham hock with piccalilli and Scotch quails eggs with caper mayonnaise. The 90-cover restaurant is open store hours from breakfast onwards.

"Hix Restaurant and Champagne Bar is too hit and miss at present to justify its high-end prices but it is nevertheless a welcome addition to Selfridges’ food offering." READ REVIEW

Avoid, Poor service, rude

Seriously avoid this place.
I went there with my boyfriends. I ordered a rose champagne and it was flat, old bottle obviously, we asked for a new glass, my boyfriends watch them pour some of the glass out and refill the top with another bottle, seriously are we stupid, the champagne was still flat, but waitress pointed at the bubbles and said it was not flat. Called her back and asked for a new glass. Head waiter come over, made us fell stupid and said if this glass is flat then the bottle is flat. Very rude. Our bread was late, after entrée, with no butter. I can go on but seriously there is some attitude problem here. Guys, you need to work on your service, we are not stupid, if champagne is flat, it will not get better with a little top up from a fresh bottle, train your staff. The welcome was also sad. There are better places in Selfridges.
