Mark Hix's restaurant & bar in the Belgraves hotel
This Mark Hix restaurant is in the Thompson Belgraves Hotel in Belgravia, the first Thompson hotel outside of the US. It has a new Mark's Bar, a cigar garden and the menu veers away from Hix's traditional British style with a more worldly feel.

"...oddly, of all the Hix restaurants I’ve eaten in, this is the one where I’ve liked the food best. Sadly, it’s being served in a restaurant with no perceptible appeal – I can’t imagine wanting to go back." READ REVIEW
"No, not a very good dinner. We kept seeing things go by that looked much better than what we were eating. I haven’t had menu envy for years." READ REVIEW

"So what happens when you try to transport a vivacious bar and restaurant from the libertine marches of Soho to a swanky hotel in the most aristocratic area of the city? Some elements translate, but the overall effect is lost." READ REVIEW

Good food pity about the room
As you would expect from a Mark Hix restaurant the menu and cooking are both good. Service is also very efficient but still friendly. Unfortunately even though the restaurant has a separate entrance in Pont Street, it really is a Coffee shop space inside a hotel lobby. It's a dull, cramped room, but Mr Hix has made no account for this in his pricing. Consequently I felt like I'd just been mugged when I got the bill!
