Our latest bi-weekly round-up of the latest London restaurant reviews from the top UK critics as they are added to our reviews section. This week Trullo's long line of excellent reviews continues and there's more praise for Tinello and 28:50 - but decidedly mixed reviews for Bar Battu.
Trullo - overall score 8/10 (no change)
Tracey MacLeod - Independent
What did she think? Great, affordable food and a buzzy atmosphere that makes it worth getting a table in this hard-to-book restaurant. Choice quote: "To have secured a table is clearly cause enough for jubilation. But to eat the dishes produced in Trullo's tiny kitchen is very heaven." Read review

Tinello - overall score 7.5/10 (no change )
Zoe Williams - Telegraph
What did she think? An all-round excellent meal in a perfect setting. Choice quote: "The pork was just so perfectly Italian – braised, naturally, so bursting with moisture and flavour and possibility. Why do we insist on roasting pork? Is it just for the crackling? This had none, and it just underlined its deliciousness that you wouldn't have wished for any." Read review

28-50 - overall score 7.5/10 (up 0.5)
Marina O'Loughlin - Metro
What did she think? Good food with helpful staff on hand to advise on the impressive wine list. Choice quote: "28º-50º is part of a new trend of nouveau wine bars – Terroirs, the newcomer Bar Battu – that have given the old fusty, dusty-bottle-draped fossils a boot up the vintages." Read review

Fay Maschler - Evening Standard
What did she think? Not up to the standards of the departed Gauthier, the new head chef needs to improve. Choice quote: "This is old-fashioned food and ironically it is perhaps because the chef is too young to have yet carved out his own identity." Read review

AA Gill - Sunday Times
What did he think? Much better food than expected with an excellent and authentic French menu. Choice quote: "...the best of all was my thin Strasbourg tart. This is an old-fashioned, Franco-German pizza, an elegant, crisp crust dressed with a negligee of sauerkraut, poitrine and Strasbourg sausage. Sensationnel. Ausgezeichnet. A wonderful regional dish that I can’t think you’ll find anywhere else in London. Perfect for lunch." Read review

Dishoom - overall score 6.5/10 (no change)
Marina O'Loughlin - Metro
What did she think? Good location, design and atmosphere, with decent enough food in a place that could become a good chain. Choice quote: "Perhaps it isn’t the finest Indian food in town but it’s not setting out to be. However, the little lamb chops, almost furry from their yoghurty spicing, charred from fiery heat and splendidly tender, are as good as you’ll get." Read review

Café Luc - overall score 6/10 (no change)
Timothy Barber - City AM Estimated score
What did he think? A huge variety of dishes, and if all can be turned out like the dinner he had - this is another good addition to Marylebone High Street. Choice quote: "Café Luc can sit happily alongside Tintin, Johnny Halliday, statues of micturating babies and waffles on the list of Belgium’s cultural accomplishments. In fact it beats those easily (apart from Tintin, but that might just be me)." Read review

Richard Ehrlich - Time Out
What did he think? A good space, good food, big portions. Choice quote: "Some of chef John Cook's food is sensationally good. Eggs Benedict on the brunch menu was exemplary." Read review

Fay Maschler - Evening Standard
What did she think? Much loved restaurant returns, but still needs to get on its feet. Choice quote: "Eight Over Eight seems to have been much missed. It was crammed on the fourth night of business. That may have explained the occasional lack of finesse in execution and a feebleness of heat (as in temperature) when heat was needed." Read review

Joe Joseph - Times
What did he think? Another reviewer not enamoured by the beige, he had an adequate meal overshadowed by the fact that he could have had a better one at Tinello a few doors down. Choice quote: "The wine list is not grabby. But it’s not so gripping, either. Service is willing, but also a little wanting." Read review

Richard & Peter - Harden's Estimated score
What did she think? (After dig at Time Out) Better than expected for a fashion-led, sloaney gastropub. Choice quote: "In fact, given that food that goes with fashion is usually incidental, it’s quite good. If it is judged as a complement to the place’s other attractions – there undoubtedly are people who will see them as attractions – it hits the spot pretty well." Read review

Platform - overall score 5.5/10 (no change)
Jay Rayner - Observer Estimated score
What did he think? worth it only for the - albeit dimly lit - upstairs restaurant which cooks fantastic meat. Choice quote: "Platform cannot do desserts; it's not worth wasting words on them. What it can do is meat." Read review

Fay Maschler - Evening Standard
What did she think? A poor shadow of the much better Terroirs. Choice quote: "Main plates served in cast iron sauté pans are reasonably priced but bavette with shallots and bone marrow, osso busso (sic) of Suffolk pork and grilled coquelet were all diminished by their over-reduced sauces." Read review
Time Out Editors - Time Out
What did she think? While not living up to its over-hype, still a place with good food and decent wines. Choice quote: "Forget the mystic viticulture and the restaurant's hyperbolic claims - this is simply a very nice place to drink some seldom seen, well-chosen wines and thoughtful food helped along by City-slick service." John Lanchester - Guardian Estimated score
What did he think? Amazing decor, terrible food. Choice quote: "The beef had the texture of trainers and the taste of nothing – nothing at all. Chewing it was an odd sensation, because my mouth was energetically at work, while my tastebuds were coming up with no response." Read review
