Zoe's Ghana Kitchen moves east to London Fields' Institute of Light with a new menu

You've likely heard of Zoe's Ghana Kitchen by now, be it as a pop-up, a supper club, the cookbook or residences at Pop Brixton or The Sun & 13 Cantons. Now, Zoe Adjonyoh is returning to East London to start her brand new residency at London Fields' arthouse cinema Institute of Light, with a new menu to boot - including snacks to munch during the film.

There will be plenty of West African food on offer and fresh for the IOL will be:

  • Oto cakes with soft boiled egg
  • Cassava crisps with scotch bonnet salsa
  • Kenkey and sardines
  • Red red bean stew

Finger snacks for moviegoers will include akara fritters, okra and kelewele - spicy fried plantains. Or, if you want something more substantial, you can try her jollof chicken with lettuce wraps, plantain pork belly or the spicy goat shocko stew.

"Being back in East London feels like a true homecoming for us," said Zoe, who first started out slinging her peanut butter stew at Hackney Wicked arts festival some eight years ago.

Later down the line, we've also been promised one-off events, including collaborations with other London chefs, so check back to find out more in the future.
